Because we know how important your package is, we guarantee we’ll deliver your Special Delivery™ Next Day item before 1.00pm the next working day

Where we deliver

Use Special Delivery™ Next Day and we’ll guarantee delivery by 1.00pm of the next working day to 99%* of the country, including Northern Ireland, Jersey and Guernsey. Some places take longer to deliver to, but we still guarantee delivery within three working days by 5.30 pm

Available six days a week

You can use Special Delivery™ Next Day from Monday to Friday, except bank holidays or public holidays. If you need your item sent over the weekend, you can also arrange a guaranteed Saturday Delivery available at just £2.70 extra per item.

Guaranteed Saturday Delivery

Available for a small surcharge (from £2.70 extra per item) from Post Offices throughout the UK. Mail an item on a Friday and we can guarantee next day delivery even though it’s a Saturday.


Flexible size and weight limits

You can use Special Delivery™ Next Day to send items weighing up to 20kg.

The maximum dimensions of a rectangular item are 610mm x 460mm x 460mm, and the maximum length of a rolled item is 900mm.

If you’re sending rolled items please also note that the length plus twice the diameter of your item must not exceed 1040mm.

Covered for up to £500

When you use Special Delivery™ Next Day you can claim compensation up to £500 or the value of the item, whichever is the lower. If the item is more valuable you can buy additional compensation cover up to £2,500.

Compensation for loss or damage to items posted on or after 9th January 2012 must be claimed in writing within 80 days of posting. You should include your proof of purchase receipt and evidence of the item’s value.

Compensation for loss or damage to items posted before this date must be claimed within 3 months of posting. 

You can claim a fee refund for late delivery of your item in writing. You must do so within 14 days of posting. Remember to include your proof of purchase receipt.

Consequential loss

Sometimes the damage, delay or loss of an item can lead to greater loss than the market value of the item itself.  Delayed legal documents or damaged photographic transparencies are two examples. If you are sending such an item, you can opt for Consequential Loss cover which will entitle you to extra compensation should something go wrong

You can apply for consequential loss compensation if you're using Special Delivery™ for any UK destination, except the Channel Islands, Isle of Man or HM Forces addresses.

Just ask for consequential loss when you send your item by Special Delivery™ Next Day. Compensation claims can be made through our Customer Services within 14 days of posting. Remember to include the receipt for purchase when you file your claim.

Track your item online

When we deliver your item we’ll collect a signature to confirm receipt. We then update our online Track & Trace system with details of the delivery time and date. We’ll also add an electronic copy of the signature taken, with our Electronic Proof of Delivery (ePOD) service.
